Moving could be a tedious or simple process. To make it simple you should make a few steps before you choosing your mover.

• Have your new apartment lease signed or at least have a solid agreement for your new place.
• Decide whether to self pack your items or have your movers do it for you.
• Make a complete list of furniture you are moving (with mirror or glass details).
• Try to be aware of any foreseeable obstacles that may occur in your relocation process.
• Buildings requirements (certificates of insurance or elevators use time).

All the above are very important information for your mover to know in order to give you an accurate estimate. If you are unsure, please call for an onsite estimate and show a representative your moving conditions.

Certain moving preparations are your responsibility and should be made before the movers arrive, even if they are to do both packing and unpacking. Major appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines require disconnecting and special services to protect them during shipment. Other items, which are attached to walls or floors such as draperies, pictures, or tacked-down carpets, should be removes and ready for shipment. Some moving companies may provide these services for you at your request and at your expense. Do not pack money, jewelry, or important papers. Valuable personal items of this kind should never be packed with the shipment.

The care with which your goods are packed may determine the condition in which they arrive at your new home. Should you decide to do all of your own packing or part of your packing, you should do so with care. You should use good strong containers, which may be obtained from an outside source or rented or purchased from the mover. You will save money if you pack by yourself. Should you desire the mover to do the packing, the mover will supply the container and perform the packing, the unpacking, or both. There is, however, a charge for the containers and for each container packed or unpacked by the mover.

Packing is a very important part of moving. Remember, you do not have to go long distance to do damage it could happen right outside of your door. However we supply every customer with free boxes, which should be discussed with one of our moving coordinators and also will be delivered to you before the moving date at no charge. All your furnishings will be protected with padded blankets before shipping in your home. Please note that this is free of charge.
