Experian Credit Reports
You do have a resource available to your to obtain your credit report without incurring a fee yourself. In some cases, a free credit report will be made available from many companies who will pay the fee to obtain your Experian credit report. These companies have various services that are beneficial to certain situations. Take the important time to review the service that is offered and know what the costs to you are. Some landlords may charge a fee for requesting your Experian credit report. If the landlord approves, it may be cheaper to you to request your credit file yourself.

Once you obtain a copy of your credit report from the Experian credit reporting agency, you can request an investigation of items found on your credit report that you feel are inaccurate. This could be any of your personal information such as name, date of birth and social security number or it could also be your address or place of employment. Although you may not think these affect your credit score, you are very wrong. Changes in employment and an unstable history of residence can have a very detrimental effect on your credit rating, causing you to get turned down for a rental.

You May Qualify for a Free Credit Report
The Fair Credit Reporting Act entitles you to a free credit report if you are:

• Unemployed and intend to apply for employment within 60 days;
• Receiving public welfare assistance;
• A person who believes your credit file contains inaccurate information due to fraud; or
